Recipe: Creole Bread Pudding with Irish Whiskey Sauce

Ingredients
- 3/4 pound light, airy French bread, cut into 1 1/2-inch-thick slices
- 1 cup dark raisins
- 2 dozen large eggs
- 1 1/2 quarts heavy cream
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, chopped
- For whiskey sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 7 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup Irish whiskey
