Recipe: Korean Dumplings – Mandu
Summary: Mandu is a Korean dumpling stuffed with a mixture of various meat and vegetables.
Ingredients
- Filling
- 1/2 lb ground pork (or other meat if preferred)*
- 1/4 lb ground shrimp or ground beef*
- 1 medium zucchini, finely chopped
- 1/2 head of a small cabbage (about 1 lb), finely chopped
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms, finely chopped (Shiitaki preferably )
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 scallions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon finely minced ginger (or juiced)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt to season the filling and more for salting vegetables
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
