These look great! But I have a question, wouldn’t the colors mix all together once you start to fill the mold? Sorry, I think I’m missing something.
I see the step that is missing, and will add it in momentarily. You should chill the mold and Jell-O between each layer. This will keep them from mixing together.
Refrigerate after you add a color.
Where can you purchase the molds?
Just grab some empty plastic Easter eggs, and simply poke a hole into one end.
I use egg cartons trays to stand my moulds in, I pop them in the freezer for faster setting between adding colours. Cuts time right down to minutes, with the egg mould it would take a much shorter time again. I am looking forward to getting an egg mould as these look cool. Shall look around for a clear mould, as it might make it easier to judge each setting.
I do the oranges shelled out and set jelly in them.
Have you done those WTCook. Adults are fascinated by them and the children love them.
Will pass on to you if you would like.
Also do same in bowls.
Cheers
I mean’t to say, when the jelly is set in orange peel, cut into quarters.
If I’m reading this right, it will take around 12 hours from start to finish. Will the jello remain liquid for that long at room temperature?
Just do as one of the other comments mentioned; place them in the freezer to speed the up the setting process. You can also make each color right before you go to add it to the mold.
I just ordered my Jello Egg Molds on wwwKraftBrands.com http://www.kraftbrands.com/Jello/Default.aspx
click “Products” and ordered mine. The mold was free with $2.95 shipping cost.
Thank you for posting the recipe.
